EAST LONGMEADOW — Tag sale enthusiasts take note! The Pleasant View Senior Center is bringing together dozens of people eager to sell their treasures and help those looking to end Alzheimer’s disease at the same time.
The third annual Pleasant View Trunk Sale is on May 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a rain date of June 1. The event is organized and run by the Tri-Town Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. The team, including volunteers from East Longmeadow, Longmeadow and Hampden, are raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association and will participate in the 2025 Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Oct. 26 at Holyoke Community College.
Pleasant View Senior Center Program and Volunteer Coordinator Alicia Mattson-Bozé said the Trunk Sale has been successful in past years, and the Tri-Town team has been the one to raise the most money for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Parking spaces in the Senior Center’s lot are sold for a fee — $25 for one space or $40 for side-by-side spaces. People will park in their designated space and can sell items directly from their trunk or set up a table. The vendors keep the proceeds of their sales, and the parking space fees are donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
“It’s not a craft fair,” Mattson-Bozé said. “Imagine a tag sale, but it’s a community tag sale.” Household items of all kinds can be sold at the event.
The sale is not limited to residents of East Longmeadow. Anyone can register to sell or come shop. So far, 15 parking spaces have been sold, but there is capacity for 35 vehicles and there is still time to register, Mattson-Bozé said. Interested people should call Linda at 413-627-8509 or visit the center in person for an application and bring the fee. Pleasant View Senior Center is at 328 N. Main St.
