EAST LONGMEADOW — The votes have been counted in the 2025 Town Election and voters in East Longmeadow chose to stay the course in the race for three Town Council seats. Councilors Kathleen Hill and Anna Jones were reelected for new three-year terms, as was Councilor Ralph Page, who was nearly unseated by candidate Carolyn Ferros.

With 964 ballots cast for her, Jones received the most votes in the four-way race, while there were 908 votes for Hill. With just nine votes between the candidates, Page eked out a victory over Ferros, earning 737 and 728 votes, respectively. In a May 22 article, Hill, Jones and Page each told Reminder Publishing about the importance of maintaining the town’s fiscal health while addressing its aging infrastructure needs. Meanwhile, Ferros ran on a platform of transparent communication with the community.

The council was the only contested race on the ballot. Aimee Dalenta and Antonella Raschilla Manzi were reelected to three-year terms on the School Committee, while William Strother was elected to a one-year term.

The election saw 1,405 voters turn out to vote, 10.1% of East Longmeadow’s 13,927 registered voters.

The ballot question was narrowly defeated, with a vote of 658-631. The question would have amended the town’s Home Rule Charter to allow the Town Council to consider multiple bylaw changes at once with an expedited process. Instead, each bylaw change will continue to go through a process of individual submission, legal notices, public hearings and reviews. The charter amendment was presented ahead of several changes that will be recommended later this year by the Bylaw Review Committee, which meets every 10 years.
