WEST SPRINGFIELD — West Springfield’s Morgan Road Pavilion and Eastern States Exposition will once again be home to one of the town’s most prized summer pastimes.
For over six decades, the Park and Recreation Department has delivered summer joy to West Springfield families with its token summer concert series, and according to Recreation Supervisor Julie Gray, the town expects to continue that tradition by featuring a variety of versatile talent across the next three months.
“The 2025 West Springfield Summer Concert Series will once again showcase a strong lineup of beloved local performers who have become staples of the series, while also introducing fresh talent to highlight the diverse musical landscape of our community,” Gray said. “Audiences can look forward to a dynamic mix of familiar favorites and exciting new acts.”
The spirit of the series remains intact, but Gray told Reminder Publishing that there are exciting new additions to the program; including the availability of beer, food and wine at all the Morgan Road concerts.
“These refreshments will be offered for purchase through the collaborative efforts of the Lion’s Club and Rotary Club, enhancing the concert-going experience for all attendees,” Gray said.
One of the series’ flagship events is also returning this year. To celebrate Fourth of July, the Park and Recreation Department is once again offering a full day of community-focused entertainment at Town Common.
Residents will participate in a plethora of family-friendly activities beginning at 11:30 a.m., including inflatable obstacle courses, face painting, as well as craft and temporary tattoo stations.
The celebration continues with a live performance at 1 p.m. from local band, The Next J.E.N.
“It’s a day designed to bring the community together in celebration, with something for everyone to enjoy,” Gray said of the Fourth of July celebration.
Having reached its 62nd year of existence, the summer concert series reflects the decades of dedication from local organizers, volunteers, artists and residents who have continued to grow the series each year, according to the Park and Recreation Department.
“This tradition has become more than just a series of concerts,” Gray said. “It’s a cherished part of West Springfield’s identity, bringing generations together to enjoy music, connect with neighbors, and celebrate local talent. We’re proud to carry on this legacy and look forward to many more summers of music and community spirit.”
The series will run each week from June 5 to Sept. 11, and all concerts begin at 7 p.m. Readers can see the full slate of performers by visiting the Park and Recreation Department’s website: tinyurl.com/bdcm9xjw.
