HATFIELD — The town of Hatfield released important information regarding the annual town election in 2024.

According to the town of Hatfield website, nominations for this year’s annual town election — which will occur on May 21 — became available at the Town Clerk’s office at Memorial Town Hall on Feb. 5.

This year’s election will feature several chairs that the town is trying to fill. According to the website, Hatfield is looking to fill an assessor for a three-year term; a Board of Health member for a three-year term; a cemetery commissioner for three years; an elector under the Will of Oliver Smith for one year; a library trustee for three years; and one Planning Board member for five years and another for two years.

The town is also looking for a Redevelopment Authority member for five years and another for three years; two School Committee members for a three-year term; and a Select Board member for a three-year term.

Incumbents for each position are listed on the website and include Ed Jaworski for Select Board, James Tarr for Planning Board and School Committee members Catherine Englehardt and Jennifer Maloney.

According to the town website, people have until April 2 to submit their nomination papers for the election and until May 3 to register to vote.
People can pick up their nomination papers by visiting the Town Clerk’s Office between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays or by appointment.

Polls for the Annual Town Election will be open on May 21 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Memorial Town Hall Meeting Room.
