WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

SPRINGFIELD — An early morning fire on Dec. 2 has shuttered All American Bar, Grill & Patio for an indefinite amount of time.

Springfield Fire posted on X at 7:45 a.m. that they were “on scene” and “all companies [were] operating at this time” to put out the fire at the bar/restaurant, which is located at 459 Dwight St.

Around 10:36 a.m. that day, Springfield Fire posted again to say there were no reported injuries and that “Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad is investigating.”

All American, which officially opened in April 2023, is a locally and minority-owned upscale sports bar that offers creative takes on classic American dishes like burgers, wings, handhelds, flatbreads and more.

The owners, Kenny Lumpkin and Dr. Mark Markarian, also own Dewey’s Sports Lounge at 232 Worthington St.

As of Dec. 4, two days after the fire, Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte told Reminder Publishing that the Fire and Bomb Squad was still investigating and there was nothing to report at that time.

He added that there was a lot of water in the bar/restaurant’s basement that needed to be pumped out before the squad went into investigate.

Reminder Publishing could not reach All American owners as of press time, but the establishment posted on Facebook Dec. 2 to say that they are “closed until further notice” due to the fire.

Lumpkin reacted to the situation on his own Facebook account.

“I am aware of the building fire at All American; my primary focus is that everyone is safe,” Lumpkin said. “I am relieved that no one was in the building at the time. A business can always be rebuilt. We’ve done it before.”

In response to the fire, All American has moved its signature $7 Margarita Mondays and $1 Wing Wednesdays to Dewey’s until further notice.

“We are incredibly grateful for your kind words and support during this time,” the restaurant posted on social media the day after the fire. “While All American remains closed, we look forward to welcoming you at Dewey’s. Your continued love means the world to us.”

Dewey’s is open 5 to 11 p.m. Wednesdays, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and for Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

Reminder Publishing will have more information on the situation as it becomes available.
