WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

AGAWAM — The West of the River Chamber of Commerce’s annual Food Fest West will take place on Nov. 20 at Crestview Country Club from. 5:30-8 p.m., bringing in some great restaurants, eateries and new types of cuisine.

Executive Director Robin Wozniak said, “We’re going on our 15th year. It’s a very popular event in our area. We wanted to promote our local restaurants and eateries so that everybody knows what’s available for them to go out and enjoy.”

She continued, “It started out small and over the years it’s grown tremendously. We have great support from our restaurants here and from our business community.”

They’ll have Joey’s Deli & Market, Nadim’s Downtown Mediterranean Grill, Murphy’s Pub, the Buccaneer Lounge, Crumbl Cookies, Souper Sweet Sandwich Shop, Partners Restaurant and Catering & Tansey’s Catered Table, Ice Cream Emergency and more.

Owners Mark Tansey and his daughter Siena of Partners Restaurant and Catering & Tansey’s Catered Table are excited for this year’s fest. He’s been participating for many years.

“You can expect a new menu item from us that we will be putting on our event/banquet menus,” said Tansey. “As a longtime member of the chamber it is a great way to help the chamber to raise funds for their programs and events.”

He went on to say, “The Food Fest West brings people together to try out restaurants they’ve never tried before. The restaurants & catering companies put their best food forward to showcase some items that they have and it’s an opportunity for us to reach out and perhaps get some new customers.”

There’ll also be a silent auction, raffle prizes, a photo booth and a trophy for the Peoples’ Choice Favorite Food, so everybody that attends will vote for their favorite. Proceeds help support the West of the River Chamber of Commerce’s Student Ambassador programs and business development programs.

The West of the River Chamber of Commerce encompasses Agawam and West Springfield. They help small businesses in the community. They also support new businesses coming into the area and provide platforms for networking, helpful business information and links to any opportunities in the area. Wozniak told Reminder Publishing she has been an Agawam resident for 25 years and for her helping support small businesses here in the community has been the most rewarding aspect of her job.

“I get up every day and look forward to the businesses that I meet, help, support and promote,” Wozniak said. “And Food Fest West is just part of that. We hope to get hundreds of people like we’ve had in the past and for our attendees to see we have great restaurants and food establishments right here in Western Mass.”
