WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

SOMERS — Somers Congregational Church has been a part of the community since 1727 helping those beyond its church doors in need of pastoral and spiritual care. This year, they are looking for more vendors for their Holiday Bazaar; any crafter that makes handmade items.

At press time, the church had about 25 vendors but can take up to 40.

The Holiday Bazaar will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in their Foundation Room, featuring homemade crafts and baked goods, vintage Christmas items and poinsettias for sale.

A luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with menu choices of either chicken casserole, mac and cheese, or chili, including a dessert and beverage. The proceeds go to the church budget and the church funds and then 10% goes to a mission project.

Fundraiser Coordinator Kathy Fuller said, “We’ve hosted this event for many years. It came about when we were looking to raise money. The Women’s Fellowship used to do it and then we just expanded it a little bit.”

She continued, “We’re hoping that we have a lot of people and a lot of vendors and shoppers for the day. It will be full of fellowship, camaraderie and fun. We want people to join us, enjoying company and enjoying the season.”

Somers Congregational Church is at 599 Main St. Those that want to be vendors in the Holiday Bazaar can contact the church office by contacting 860-763-4021 between 9 and 11:30 a.m. or office@thesomerschurch.org.
