WARE — On May 26, the public and representatives from local organizations celebrated Memorial Day weekend at Quabbin Park Cemetery in Ware by honoring Revolutionary War patriots interred at the cemetery.

BELCHERTOWN — While the May 20 Town Election fielded no contested races, the Select Board is gaining new representation with the addition of new members Whitney Kuhnlenz and Nina Miner.
BELCHERTOWN — The May 13 annual Town Meeting presented a 40-article warrant to the community with all items passing by majority vote after some focused discussion on areas of local interest and budgetary concern.
LUDLOW — Ludlow High School athletics will host a joint ice hockey team with Belchertown High School for the coming hockey season following approval from the School Committee at its May 14 meeting.
BELCHERTOWN — Extreme weather and intense rain events have become more common in recent years. In August 2023, many New England communities experienced severe flooding when more than 6 inches of rain fell over a six-hour period. In an effort to mitigate future storm impacts, Belchertown and Ware have partnered with The Great American Rain Barrel Company to offer rain barrels to residents at discounted prices, helping homeowners collect the water, instead of letting it go down the drain.
