WARREN — Mass Appeal Pizza & Bread Co. owner Jeffrey “Jasper” Fleming is asking the community for support and patience following a car crash involving his family on Saturday, Jan. 20.
While driving home after a day out, the vehicle carrying Fleming’s partner and his two daughters was struck head on by another vehicle in Canton, Connecticut. Although no one in the family sustained life-threatening injuries, the mother did have “significant injuries” which will require rehabilitation and multiple surgeries, Fleming told Reminder Publishing.
He explained that his daughters were not injured and are staying at their grandparents’ house while their mother is in the hospital. The cause of the crash has not yet been fully determined.
When asked how the community can help his family in this difficult time, Fleming requested that residents “keep us in mind” as the year moves into Super Bowl and birthday season.
He explained how the restaurant will try to maintain regular service, but that Mass Appeal may need to reduce their hours to Wednesday through Sunday once his partner returns from the hospital.
Fleming emphasized how ordering from the restaurant as well as utilizing the restaurant’s Little League fundraiser is helpful for supporting the family as they move forward.
The community has also organized a GoFundMe page to help support Fleming and his family, he stated. The GoFundMe page can be found at www.gofundme.com/f/mother-2-daughters-involved-in-serious-collision and has a goal of $20,000.
