WARREN — The Quaboag Regional Middle High School’s Student Council is hosting its third annual Valentines Craft Fair on Feb. 10 in the school’s cafeterias.
The event is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will include more than 80 vendors of various crafts, including woodworking, candle making, photography, and baking, organizer and Student Council advisor Kayla Hatch told Reminder Publishing. There is no admission fee.
At the fair, there will also be a raffle table with more than 100 prizes donated by the vendors. Visitors who want to participate in the raffle can purchase 25 tickets for $20 and divide the tickets between any number of prizes. All money from the raffle will be used toward the school’s attendance of a state leadership conference, Hatch explained.
Hatch first started the fair with the Student Council after the coronavirus pandemic.
The council wanted “to do something for the community [and] bring members together.” Hatch stated that the students wanted to highlight local businesses and knew other towns had held similar events. With limited sales from the pandemic, businesses soon began to reach out and the fair grew, she said.
This year, crafters can purchase a 6-foot spot in the fair for $25. Tables and chairs are not provided by the school and crafters are required to donate one item for the raffle table, Hatch said.
Crafters are allowed to purchase more than one six-foot spot if desired.
Crafters also should arrive to the fair by 7:30 a.m. to set up prior to the arrival of visitors. Clean up after the fair is usually complete by 3:15 p.m., she stated. Any crafters looking to be part of the fair should contact Hatch by phone at 413-433-5533 or by email at khatch@quaboagrsd.org. Applications are due by Feb. 7.
