The past three editions of the Reminder contained letters from Longmeadow residents about the shameful treatment two members of the previous Board of Assessors received from the majority of the Select Board. Both Richard Foster and Mr. Zeller have stellar records as volunteers for our town. At least Mark Gold had the courtesy to thank these gentlemen for their substantial service. When I was younger, I too worked as a volunteer and understand the effort involved to do the work. Our form of government cannot work successfully without qualified volunteers. As Mr. Foster writes, “wake up Longmeadow.”
Town elections will be coming soon. We should all be doing our homework by vetting the candidates.
