WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

Here’s a scenario:

Suppose you want to start a school because you believe you have courses that people would like and benefit from. So, you build a school and conduct courses during the hours of 8 a.m. to noon. People (young and old) come and like the courses. You consider it a success!

And then you think of more courses that could be beneficial. And, perhaps the people suggest other topics that they would like to see addressed. And, perhaps more people come. So, to accommodate those additional courses, do you:

  • Open your school for some afternoon hours, or
  • Add on to the building?

End of scenario.

I cannot understand why our Senior Center and Council On Aging are so reluctant to have 40 hours a week (versus 30 hours now). Voila! Forty hours would give us 33% more “free” program time and space. We would not have to have foot care in the custodian’s closet.

This is a consideration when we go to Town Meeting on Tuesday, Oct 29, 6:30 p.m., to vote on millions of dollars on the expansion of our Senior Center. Please come and vote no.

Thank you.
