SPRINGFIELD — The third annual Springfield Pride Parade welcomed a vibrant celebration of diversity, love and equality in Massachusetts as the city rung in Pride Month. This event provided a variety of festivities, including the Pride Parade that walked from Springfield Technical Community College to Stearns Square, community gatherings, workshops and performances from local artists. The memorable event of empowerment, acceptance and celebration of LGBTQ+ rights and visibility in Springfield and beyond gathered in thousands of residents of the community. Taurean Bethea, the CEO and founder of the Springfield Pride Parade Organization said the goal is to raise $75,000 to help launch at least one safe space program in each school, including full time advocates working with teachers and administrators to help them deal with issues that challenge the LGBTQ+ community.
