EAST LONGMEADOW — The Mean Bean Shop officially cut the ribbon to signify the grand opening of their new standalone location on Dec. 9.
Owners and artists Ezequiel and Arianna Lugo were awarded an official citation from the House of Representatives by state Reps. Brian Ashe and Carlos González, recognizing and congratulating the store’s opening. Mean Bean was previously located in a shared space on Shaker Road, but is now located at 37 Harkness Ave.
Ashe was in attendance at the opening of Mean Bean’s previous location and said he had the pleasure of being there, learning their story and seeing their work legitimized in a much bigger location.
“Of all the work we do, these are the things that really mean the most to us,” Ashe said. “To see young people starting a business, you know, really investing in our local area, and having a tattoo parlor right here is so cool, so we’re thrilled for you.”
Mean Bean specializes in professional custom tattoos, micropigmentation, scar and stretch mark camouflage and breast cancer areola restoration tattoos. They also sell a curated selection of merchandise, including stickers and apparel.
