SOUTHWICK — After a ruling by the federal Environmental Protection Agency last October that every lead or copper water line in the country must be replaced in 12 years, the DPW is continuing its effort to verify the materials used in the water service lines of every home in town with a new initiative.
A statewide service program known as Project 351 is giving four local 8th graders the opportunity to participate in a year-long journey of service, civic engagement and leadership.
SOUTHWICK — The principals of Pioneer Valley Trading Co., the recreational cannabis store working through the permitting process to open in town, made their first appearance in front of the Planning Board on Jan. 7 and they were “excited to get it going.”
SOUTHWICK — As the Planning Board wrapped up its over two-hour meeting on Jan. 7, Chair Michael Doherty and board member David Sutton announced they were resigning.
SOUTHWICK — As early as this spring, residents will start seeing bright reds signs around town promoting Southwick, which is the Economic Development Commission’s most recent initiative to brand the town as a recreation destination.
SOUTHWICK — With the Special Town Meeting called for Tuesday, Jan. 14, the warrant has come into focus and will include two articles from the Community Preservation Committee for funding projects, one about a citizens’ petition, and another for a vote on a funds transfer to pay Fire Department salaries.
