HOLYOKE — Salvation Army Lts. Montserrant and Cesar Esquivel welcome members of the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce to the kickoff of the nonprofit’s capital campaign, Building Hope — Restoring Lives, during the chamber’s Nov. 20 Lunch and Learn at the Salvation Army’s 271 Appleton St. facility. The capital campaign, with a $1 million goal, seeks to help fund the replacement of the Salvation Army’s current building, which they have occupied since 1920. The plan is to build the new, state-of-the-art facility — at a total cost of $3 to $4 million – at the same location. To date, PeoplesBank, Greenfield Cooperative Bank, bankESB and private donors have already contributed $80,000 during a quiet period of the capital campaign.
