EAST LONGMEADOW — On Dec. 4, the East Longmeadow Fire Department recognized four firefighters in a promotion ceremony to the rank of lieutenant.
Christopher French, Brody Allen, Matthew Adams and Brian Perrault officially received their badges from Chief Christopher Beecher before being sworn in by Town Clerk Jeanne Quaglietti.
Beecher began the ceremony congratulating the newly appointed lieutenants.
“This is more than a change of title, it’s a reflection of the dedication, professionalism, and commitment serving our community. To our newly appointed lieutenants, congratulations,” Beecher said. “With this new rank comes new expectations. As lieutenants, you are now the first line of leadership for your crews. Your firefighters will look to you for guidance, calm under pressure and clear directions.”
Town Council President Connor O’Shea awarded them with official citations to commemorate the promotion.
