On the afternoon of June 22, areas of Hampden and Wilbraham were impacted by a severe thunderstorm that swept through the region.
WILBRAHAM — During a joint meeting on June 18, the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School Committee and Hampden Board of Selectmen discussed the future ownership of Thornton W. Burgess School.
HAMPDEN — On June 17, the town of Hampden hosted its first public meeting in its process of creating a new Master Plan to guide the town for the next 10-15 years.
LONGMEADOW — After more than an hour of discussion on June 17, the Longmeadow Select Board elected to hold off on setting the town’s water and sewer rates for fiscal year 2025 until the body could meet with a representative from the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission.
EAST LONGMEADOW — At the June 17 School Committee meeting, Superintendent Gordon Smith and members of the leadership teams from each of East Longmeadow’s five schools presented an end-of-year update on the district and individual schools’ goals, successes and needed growth following the 2023-24 school year.
