WESTFIELD — Jean Fisher of Westfield just completed her 20th year in the Pan Mass Challenge, cycling 186 miles in two days from Sturbridge to Provincetown to raise money for cancer research at the Dana Farber Institute.
WESTFIELD — The Council on Aging Sassy Stitchers knit and crochet group and Piecemakers quilting group recently completed a project for students in Faces at Westfield State University.
WESTFIELD — While the state Legislature is currently pushing for a bell-to-bell cell phone ban in public schools, Westfield High School is planning to launch a pilot program in January that would limit which programs may be accessed in the school while still allowing use of cell phones for educational and emergency purposes.
HOLYOKE — New art installations have been displayed at the Armour Yard, courtesy of Beyond Walls. Shipping containers as large as 40 feet in length feature murals by world-class artists.
HOLYOKE — The Greater Holyoke Chamber of Commerce filed a criminal complaint with the Holyoke Police Department and the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office against its former executive director, Jordan Hart, for the alleged theft and misappropriation of funds.
