NORTHAMPTON — In the annual celebration of the new year, First Night Northampton returns for its 40th edition on Tuesday, Dec. 31 with a 12-hour day featuring the family-friend festival of the arts culminating in a traditional ball-raising from the roof of Hotel Northampton.
RUSSELL — Dec. 14’s Russell Parade of Lights had the biggest crowd she’d ever seen, said organizer Missy Castro of the town’s Parks and Recreation Commission.
SOUTHWICK — For the second consecutive year, volunteers spent Dec. 14 in the Old and New Cemeteries honoring every military service member laid to rest there with a Christmas wreath adorned with a bright red bow.
WESTFIELD — Gordy’s First Race 5K and 10K will return on New Year’s Day at the Westfield Boys & Girls Club for another year remembering the life and legacy of long-time runner and Boys & Girls Club supporter Gordon Bates.
