TOLLAND — Tolland’s Town Meeting saw 17 voters passing 17 articles, mostly with little discussion. Selectman Steve DellaGiustina, imitating a horse, cast the only “nay” vote of the night on an article putting $3,000 towards a text-based alert system.
AGAWAM — A team of educators has spent nearly a year working on an initiative to reimagine what teaching and learning could look like at Agawam High School.
WESTFIELD — Westfield Gas & Electric invited its 140 employees to a lunch meeting on May 15 at the Great Awakening Brewing Company on Mill Street to celebrate the municipal utility’s 125th anniversary. Guests also included retirees and elected officials, including Mayor Michael McCabe.
WESTFIELD — There is a place in the heart of downtown called Grandmothers’ Garden, a special spot celebrating a major event this summer. A memorial to “Grandmother Steiger,” the garden is celebrating its 90th anniversary with public events, fundraisers and improvements to the fragrant and colorful oasis in Chauncey Allen Park.
