HOLYOKE — The Holyoke Teachers Association hosted a press conference on Dec. 17 to announce that members of the HTA overwhelmingly voted no confidence in the School Committee’s bargaining team following months of stalled negotiations.
WILBRAHAM — The Wilbraham Select Board interviewed and appointed Ostaquio Rodrigues and Nicholas Cervizzi to the Wilbraham Police Department in its Dec. 15 meeting. Police Chief Edward Lennon presented the candidates to the Select Board.
AGAWAM — The Agawam City Council meeting on Dec. 15 served as the final one for councilors Gerald Smith, Peter Smus and Maria Valego, who were beaten in their races in the 2025 election.
SOUTHWICK — Southwick Cemetery hosted the 2025 Wreaths Across America ceremony on Dec. 13 to honor Southwick’s veterans, continuing a meaningful tradition of remembrance and gratitude.
SPRINGFIELD — On Winthrop Street in the heart of Springfield’s south end, members of the area’s Italian American community filtered in and out of a tent, buying holiday gifts from local artisans, eating roasted pecans and listening to a musician perform Christmas carols.
