LONGMEADOW — Longmeadow residents, families and friends had the opportunity to attend multiple memorials on the morning of Sept. 11 to remember the victims of 9/11 on the 25th anniversary — one of which a Longmeadow native and three others with ties to the town.
EAST LONGMEADOW — The East Longmeadow Fire Department echoed in conversation between first responders, town officials and residents on Sept. 11, until the lights suddenly cut out and East Longmeadow High School student Brenden Schmidt filled the air with bagpipes in front of an American flag backdrop.
WEST SPRINGFIELD — Nominations for this year’s West Springfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction class are officially open until Sept. 30 for athletes, teams, coaches or special contributors who have helped shape WSHS athletics.
LONGMEADOW — Longmeadow is moving forward with the Future Building Use Task Force’s distribution of a request for future use without restrictions for Old Town Hall’s development after the Select Board approved the request at its meeting on Sept. 8.
SOUTH HADLEY — The East of the River Five Town Chamber of Commerce is teeing up for its annual golf tournament to help award eight students from East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Hampden, Wilbraham and Ludlow with $16,000 in scholarships.
