EAST LONGMEADOW — Community members gathered at the East Longmeadow Town Hall on Nov. 11 to honor the veterans of Legion Post 293 and all who have served. The kickoff parade started at Legion Post 293 and marched down Maple Street towards Town Hall. Next to where a half-mast flag flew over the memorials honoring all veterans from East Longmeadow who gave their lives in service, Commander of Post 293 Brian Tidlund led the ceremony through an array of speeches and performances. Town Manager Tom Christensen and Town Council President Connor O’Shea assisted Tidlund in the laying of the wreaths before the conclusion of the ceremony.

The Pledge of Allegiance is recited by East Longmeadow Boy Scouts troop 179 and Cub Scouts pack 272.
