WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

Many thanks to Sarah Heinonen of the Reminder on her interview with Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio on her ongoing efforts to audit the Massachusetts state Legislature.

On the November 2024 Massachusetts state ballot voters approved Democratic State Auditor DiZoglio to audit the state legislature. The ballot initiative won with a 72% approval totaling over two million votes .

I contacted my State Senator Jake Oliveira office numerous times during 2025 for updates with responses from from one of his aides that ranged from no updates to the ballot question raised Massachusetts Constitutional issues.

State Senate President Karen Spilka and State House Speaker Ron Mariano and Attorney General Andrea Campbell continue to stonewall on the ability to audit the state Legislature. The issue is now tied up with legal issues all the way up to Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. If this ballot question was a state constitutional issue why was it approved by AG Campbell and what was the cost to state taxpayers?

The Question 1 2024 ballot results were a clear indication that Massachusetts residents want more transparency and accountability from the legislature after decades of questionable leadership in the Massachusetts State House.
