Findings from a new state audit of the Holyoke and Chelsea state’s soldiers’ homes are sounding the alarm bell not just for those who live there, but also for the workforce who cares for the veterans.
AGAWAM — The Agawam Veterans’ Service Office has completed its mission to fund a fifth monument for veterans who have served since the Vietnam War. Now underway is a campaign to identify the names of veterans, coined “No Name Left Behind.”

HOLYOKE — An audit report released by State Auditor Diana DiZoglio’s office on Jan. 14 found violations and oversight gaps at the Holyoke Veterans’ Home that resulted in the deaths of nearly 80 veterans during the coronavirus pandemic.
