WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

I live at Brownstone Gardens and I frequently walk on the Pleasant Street sidewalk. One cold day recently I was walking and picking up the various pieces of trash left along the way. I normally take a small plastic bag with me, but this day I didn’t, and had my arms full of various bottles and paper.

A town of East Longmeadow DPW pickup truck with two employees going by saw me and stopped and asked me what I was doing. I said “just my civic duty.” The driver took a pail from the truck bed and held it so I could deposit my collection. I appreciated their help. One good deed receives another one.
