Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School Committee supports passage of MCAS question
WILBRAHAM — With less than a month to go before the Nov. 5 general election, the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School Committee voted to support the passage of ballot Question 2, which would repeal the high school graduation requirement for passing the MCAS test.
Early voting for state elections begins Oct. 19
Residents will soon have their first opportunity to vote in this year’s Nov. 5 state and presidential election. Beginning on Oct. 19, early voting will open in East Longmeadow, Hampden, Longmeadow and Wilbraham.

HAMPDEN — The Hampden Planning Board agreed 3-2 to take no action on The Farm at GreatHorse’s request for a rezone of four parcels from residential R-6 and R-4 districts to golf recreational at its Sept. 25 meeting.
Hampden Fall Fest offers day of family friendly activities
HAMPDEN — Hampden’s 2024 Fall Fest will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 12-5 p.m. at Thornton W. Burgess School on 85 Wilbraham Rd. and feature new attractions, such as hot air balloon rides.

Down syndrome walk to honor 2 moms who started group
Sue deVillier of Agawam and Laurie Houle Isham of Hampden met 25 years ago, after their youngest daughters were born with a genetic disorder called Down syndrome. Like many mothers in their situation, they were looking for information and resources.
