CHICOPEE — The city of Chicopee kicked off the holiday season with its annual tree lighting on Dec. 1 on the City Hall Campus.

The festivities began with a song by the Girl Scouts of Chicopee and a choreographed number by Dance Dynamics.

At 5 p.m. sirens blared as Santa and Mayor John Vieau arrived in a fire truck. Once they made it to the front of the crowd, they led the ceremonial tree lighting.
Following the tree lighting, everyone gathered inside the City Hall Auditorium to meet with Santa, enjoy some snacks, along with other performances.
