
West Springfield students recognized for accomplishments

WILBRAHAM — Brianna Bernache of the Hampden-Wilbraham Partners 4 Youth, an organization that works to reduce substance use among young people, requested the Wilbraham Select Board allocate some of the town’s opioid abatement funding to support the program.
SPRINGFIELD — As a way to save money on repair costs and reduce the amount of time vehicles will spend out of service, the city of Springfield will replace a portion of their “citywide” aging fleet using a free cash transfer and through bonding.
SOUTHWICK — A long-time Southwick Senior Center volunteer was recently honored with an annual award created to recognize Southwick seniors who are active at the center.
EASTHAMPTON — After a contentious public hearing, the Easthampton City Council voted to continue the public hearing on the fiscal year 2026 budget until June 18. The $61.98 million budget is up 8.44% from the current year’s budget.
WEST SPRINGFIELD — The West Springfield Town Council hosted its second public hearing during its June 5 meeting for its fiscal year 2026 capital and operating budget, which is proposed to be approximately $134 million, a 4.54% or $5.8 million increase from FY25.
