SPRINGFIELD — Attorneys representing the city of Westfield in a lawsuit filed by nearly 20 current Police Department officers alleging wage theft has asked a Superior Court judge to dismiss portions of the lawsuit.
EAST LONGMEADOW — People often attend community events that are organized or sponsored by the East Longmeadow Lions Club, but Lion Bob Adams said those events, often free to the public, do not come without cost. The Lions Club aims to raise $15,000 for its events and charitable contributions.
SOUTHWICK — The Southampton couple who proposed building a nearly 60,000-square-foot self-storage facility on College Highway has withdrawn its request for a special permit from the Planning Board essentially putting the project on ice for the foreseeable future.
HOLYOKE — On Feb. 4, a condemnation order was issued to 56 Suffolk St. after it was discovered that tenants were living there illegally without heat, running water, functioning plumbing and other building code violations.
NORTHAMPTON — The city’s Fire and Rescue Department has been awarded an $18,569.91 grant provided through the commonwealth’s Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program that will assist in replacing and purchasing gear and other tools within the department.
EASTHAMPTON — During its Feb. 19 meeting the Easthampton City Council voted to endorse Mayor Nicole LaChapelle’s reaffirmation of the city’s Welcoming Trust Ordinance.
