There is a new face at the Wilbraham Public Library. Melissa Harter began her tenure as the library’s director on Aug. 25, taking the reins from retiring director Karen Ball.

CHICOPEE — During the Sept. 2 City Council meeting, the council approved adding a non-binding question to the Nov. 4 municipal ballot that would gather feedback on potentially implementing a quarterly tax payment system instead of the biannual system that is currently used.
WESTFIELD — The Blessed Buys Thrift Shoppe gifted proceeds of $1,200 from its third anniversary sale to the Westfield Food Pantry last week. So far this year, the thrift store, located in the Old Town Hall at 20 Broad St., has given almost $5,000 to other nonprofits in Westfield.
SOUTHWICK — For Senior Center Director Lisa Anderson, the addition of a second bus for senior citizens that need rides to doctor’s appointments or to buy groceries was a real need.
