In recognition of the 66th anniversary of the National Tibetan Uprising Day, the Regional Tibetan Association of Massachusetts led a “Walk for Tibet” on March 10, starting in the morning in Amherst, through Northampton in the afternoon and ending the day in Easthampton.

NORTHAMPTON — The School Committee and City Council were able to compromise on the committee’s request for a $600,000 mid-year appropriation as the council approved a $294,883.02 request during its March 6 meeting instead to cover lost positions from last summer’s cuts through the remainder of the school year.
NORTHAMPTON — Just as spring settles in, the Syrup Stampede 5K race and 2K fun run or walk will return on Sunday, April 6, and the pancake breakfast and race fundraiser will once again help the work of Empty Arms Bereavement Support.
WESTFIELD — The Westfield Athenaeum is hosting an exhibit of the paintings of local artist Kim Carlino. The exhibit opened on March 10 and will run through May 3 inside the building’s gallery space.
