WESTFIELD — Colby Hoffman, 38, of Westfield, is gathering signatures to run as a Democrat for state representative 4th Hampden District, a seat currently held by state Rep. Kelly Pease, a Republican who covers Southampton and most of Westfield.
LONGMEADOW — While presenting her recommendations for fiscal year 2027’s capital improvement plan at the Longmeadow Select Board meeting on March 23, Town Manager Lyn Simmons found that only around $1.5 million can be allocated from the nearly $18 million requested from town departments on capital projects.

SPRINGFIELD — A few dozen high school, college and law school students recently had a chance to demonstrate their skills in the courtroom, taking on the roles of prosecutors and defense attorneys in a mock trial as part of the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office program Future Lawyers of Springfield.
WILBRAHAM — Three teachers in the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District are being recognized with the 2025-26 Pioneer Valley Excellence in Teaching Award for going above and beyond, in and out of the classroom.
