LUDLOW — As one of the municipalities immediately surrounding Springfield, Ludlow is one of 11 communities that is eligible for grant funding to offset the impact of the nearby MGM Springfield casino. For fiscal year 2025, the Massachusetts Gaming Commission awarded the town $244,900 for improvements and mitigation.
LUDLOW — About 50 people gathered at the Polish American Citizens’ Club of Ludlow on July 23 to hear the most up-to-date information about the proposed changes to the town’s charter and form of government and express their thoughts.
LUDLOW — The Ludlow Board of Selectmen approved six projects to pay for through the town’s leftover American Rescue Plan Act money, but more than $160,000 remains unencumbered. If not appropriated by Dec. 31, it will be forfeited.
LUDLOW — Merrian-Webster defines a heroine as “a woman admired and emulated for her achievements and qualities.” Each year, the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women and state legislators seek out women who exemplify heroism through their contributions to their communities. For the 2024 class of 125 honorees, state Sen. Jake Oliveira selected Ludlow’s Laura Rooney.
