WESTFIELD — Lincoln VanHeynigen was recognized at a formal ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Westfield for his recent attainment of Eagle Scout with Westfield’s Scouting Troop 109. In attendance were Mayor Michael McCabe, state Sen. John Velis and state Rep. Kelly Pease.
WESTFIELD — On Saturday, Jan. 25, a group of intrepid souls will brave the winter waters of Hampton Ponds State Park for the 21st Annual Penguin Plunge, to raise money for the Amelia Park Children’s Museum.
CHESTER — The town of Chester has announced a special town meeting on Monday, Jan. 6. to ask voters to authorize several town expenditures. Registered town voters are asked to meet in the Town Hall Auditorium, 15 Middlefield Rd. at 7 p.m.
WESTFIELD — Before City Councilors voted unanimously in support of a resolution sponsored by councilors Dan Allie, Kristen Mello and Nicholas Morganelli opposing a lithium battery energy storage facility (BESS) on Medeiros Way in the city’s Water Resource Protection District, several officials from Jupiter Power and the Department of Public Utilities and others spoke during public participation at the meeting on Dec. 19.
