With Thanksgiving in the past, Chicopee, Holyoke and South Hadley get ready to host their respective tree lighting ceremonies and holiday celebrations.

Chicopee

Chicopee will be hosting its annual Christmas tree lighting celebration on Friday, Dec. 6 from 4:30-7 p.m. at City Hall Flag Plaza, 17 Springfield St.

The event is set to feature holiday music, festive treats and musical entertainment.

After they light up the tree, guests are invited to continue the celebration at the City Hall Auditorium with more fun festival.

South Hadley

South Hadley and the Granby Chamber of Commerce will be partnering for the 36th annual holiday stroll on Friday, Dec. 6 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the South Hadley Village Commons, 17 College St.

The free event is set to feature Santa and Mrs. Claus, face painting, puppetry creations, holiday entertainment, hot cocoa, holiday short movie at Tower Theaters and a bike raffle.

At 5 p.m., Holiday Stroll begins with face painting and hot cocoa for the kids. puppet crafting, activities, holiday treats, raffle kicks off.
From 5-7:30 p.m. there will also be free face painting and hot cocoa for kids at Thirsty Mind Free puppet crafting at Serenity Yoga along with music and entertainment under the gazebo courtesy of Berkshire Hills Music Academy.

The holiday parade with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be begin at 5:45 p.m. escorted by District No. 2 Fire Department to the Common accompanied by the South Hadley Marching Band.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive for the tree lighting tree lighting at 6 p.m and guests will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus until 7:30 p.m.

From 7:45 to 8:15 p.m., Tower Theaters will show a free 30-minute short movies, either “Trolls Holiday” or “Angela’s Christmas.” Doors will open at 7:15 p.m.

Free holiday treats and activities will be at tables and tents on the commons and Santa’s elves will be on the commons to assist with directions and answer questions about the evening’s activities.

Holyoke

Holyoke will be hosting its tree lighting and parade of lights on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 3-6 p.m. at City Hall.

From 3-5 p.m., guests can enjoy free, unlimited rides at the Holyoke Merry Go Round at Heritage Park, take pictures with holiday characters, decorate an ornament at the Holyoke Children’s Museum Art Studio and visit with DazzleDay Balloon Artists.

At 5 p.m., guests can enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn at City Hall while interacting with holiday characters and listen to holiday music. There will also be performances by the First Lutheran School Ambassador’s Choir and the Holyoke High School Madrigal Choir.
The Parade of Lights and lighting of the Christmas Tree will take place at 6 p.m.
