LONGMEADOW — When Longmeadow resident Isa Traverso-Burger unexpectedly lost her job last year, she chose to see it as an opportunity to build a career out of something she loves to do most — songwriting.

Traverso-Burger is one of three founders for the new music platform VivaLaSONG, along with the brother duo of Juan Gonzalez and Diego Gonzalez.

VivaLaSONG is based out of Boston and designed to bring original bilingual music to audiences, across English, Spanish and Spanglish songwriting.

Song lyrics are Traverso-Burger’s own, while the music is produced using artificial intelligence tools and reviewed before being uploaded to the platform.

The platform currently has two channels, VivaLaSONG Faith and VivaLaSONG Flow, but the business has expansion plans for children-focused music as well and can produce jingles for brands.

VivaLaSONG Faith features songs embedded in religion and the flow channel features “uplifting, inspiring and empowering” music, according to Traverso-Burger.

Traverso-Burger grew up in Venezuela and moved to the United States when she was 21 years old. She worked in advertising and marketing until coming up with the platform’s idea.

“I’ve been writing lyrics since I was 12 years old,” Traverso-Burger said. “Never could I imagine that I would have the opportunity to put music to those lyrics.”

She said there are 62 million bilingual people in this country and there aren’t many platforms for strictly bilingual music.

The platform creates around four songs a week, with one inspired by Venezuelan artist and founder of the 1946 Venezuelan Christian Metaphysics Movement Conny Méndez in the works. Some of their songs have reached 150,000 views.

Traverso-Burger said the platform is only a small group of people, experimenting and exploring how the company can organically grow.

She also said she’d love to be able to give back to communities and causes she is passionate about through the company, such as animal activism.

“We’re really hopeful and I’m so certain of what I am doing for the first time in my life,” Traverso-Burger said. “I never thought I would be able to really count on writing lyrics for a living … There’s a saying that, ‘El tiempo de Dios es perfecto,’ which means God’s timing is perfect. So it means that right now, with one kid off to college and a 14-year-old here in Longmeadow, it’s time to do what I love.”

She said she is trying to instill bilingualism for Spanish speakers and English speakers and get people acquainted with learning new words and languages.

“This is a way to honor that, and honor the people who want to connect with another language,” Traverso-Burger said. “I’m hoping that people connect with it.”
