WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

The intent of this article (“Sen. John Velis on the Migrant Crisis,” Impact 2024) was to highlight Sen. Velis’ concerns about the budget crisis Massachusetts is incurring with its right-to-shelter law.

The article opens with “State Sen. John Velis said he is done with talk about the federal government helping states like Massachusetts with the migrant crisis.” He said, “I want action.”

This is a snapshot of the entire Democratic Party and their see-no-evil, speak-no-evil, hear-no-evil approach to problem solving. Democrats deal with issues by talking past the point and not addressing the point except by saying we need more money to deal with the issue.

I’ve been watching the DNC convention each night, and all you see is the crowded hall of Democrats cheering their party leaders as they intentionally talk past issues. Dozens of high-level Democrats have mentioned Trump’s name many more times than they have mentioned Harris and Biden’s names combined. They have not mentioned one of our country’s biggest problems, which is the open borders and the cost that this is to our taxpayers.

Sen. Velis did get specific with one of his own solutions. “One of the issues I’ve had throughout this process, is it’s time to geographically spread this out to other communities.” I guess the thought process here is not to stop the problem, but to dilute it out to other communities. This will not stop the problem, but will make it spread faster and wider. This thinking by a Democratic politician is kind of to be expected, but when it comes from a military veteran who has tactical training, it is downright scary.

The common stock naming is to blame the federal government and not the Biden-Harris administration specifically. Gov Healey will not ask Joe Biden to stop the flow, but will send a delegation to the southern border to tell migrants we are a right-to-shelter state but please stop coming. Sen. Velis will dilute the problem state-wide but not dare to speak to federal party leaders who are in charge for 12 of the last 16 years and who have the power to close the border today.

More money will not solve the problem, but exponentially expand it. Biden and loyal Democratic Party fingerprints are all over this problem. VP Harris is called the “joyful warrior” and “ready for the moment” at the DNC convention, but one of America’s biggest issues, the migrant issue, is not dared to be spoken, and all the loyal down-party city and state Democrats toe the line.
