WEST SPRINGFIELD — On Veterans Day, all of West Springfield came out to show its support for veterans with a parade and ceremony at the Municipal Building. The parade kicked off at Saint Thomas School before making its way down Kings Highway and Elm Street, finishing up at Town Hall. Marchers included local business like Central Chevrolet, organizations including the West Springfield Lions Club, the Police and Fire departments, and students. At the ceremony, Mayor William Reichelt and state Rep. Michael Finn both read statements honoring the veterans who have served the country. Also acknowledged were Veteran of the Year Michelle Freeman and Veteran Business of the Year Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe.
