SPRINGFIELD — Thousands of area school children had the opportunity to see the Springfield Thunderbirds play their annual School Day Game with a 10:30 a.m. puck drop on Nov. 6.

Voters disagree over open space purchase during Monson Town Meeting
MONSON — At the Oct. 28 special Town Meeting, Monson residents voted against purchasing two local properties proposed by the Community Preservation Committee after concerns were raised about the impact these purchases would have on residents’ taxes.

MONSON — At its Oct. 22 meeting, the Monson Select Board voted to reduce the weight limit for the bridge on Bunyan Road from 20 tons to 5 tons due to concerns with the bridge’s condition.
Monson ends Siemens energy management service contract
MONSON — At a joint meeting of the Select Board, Finance Committee and School Committee on Oct. 21, the Monson Select Board voted to terminate the town’s energy management service contract with Siemens in favor of conducting the required reports in-house with support from less expensive resources.
