Towns receive $200,000 from state for bridge repairs
WILBRAHAM — On Wilbraham’s side, it is known as Cottage Avenue, while Ludlow calls the same roadway Miller Street. Whatever name it goes by, the bridge that spans the Connecticut River and connects the two towns received a boost on May 16 as state Sen. Jake Oliveira (D-Ludlow) presented a $200,000 earmark for the bridge on behalf of himself and state Reps. Aaron Saunders (D-Belchertown) and Angelo Puppolo (D-Springfield).

LUDLOW — On March 22, Exit 7 Theater will have its 40th celebration Gala at the Ludlow Country Club from 6-10 p.m. The gala will include a red-carpet event. Guests must be 18 and up to attend. Tickets are $60 per person. There will be a dinner buffet, dancing, photo booth and multiple raffles.
Electric buses on hold in HWRSD until fire cause known
WILBRAHAM — A fire broke out at the Lower Pioneer Valley Educational Collaborative Bus Garage at 2045 Boston Rd. on Jan. 21. The fire, reported by a passerby at 1:37 a.m., involved four electric buses housed at the site.

Beginning Friday, Jan. 17, playwrights will have just one day to create a work for the stage, actors will have less than that to learn their lines and directors will have to make it all come together for the second Annual 48-Hour Play Festival.

Neal defeats activist opponent, secures 19th term in House
