WE ARE HOMETOWN NEWS.

HOLYOKE — Five new tenants have opened inside the Holyoke Mall over the last three months, with two more coming soon this year to the region’s largest shopping destination.

This is a continued trend for the mall adding new businesses to its community that started prior to and lasted throughout the coronavirus pandemic, according to Holyoke Mall Marketing Director Ruth-Ann Hastings.

“This is actually a trend we’ve seen over the last few years with the number of businesses opening at Holyoke Mall. We’ve welcomed more than 25 new brands since 2020,” Hastings told Reminder Publishing. “We were able to recover quickly from the effects of the pandemic.”

One of the stores now open is Snipes, located on the mall’s lower level near JCPenny. Snipes has been in the sneaker and streetwear business for over 20 years and carry brands including Nike, Jordan, Adidas, New Balance and more.

Another business added in the last few months is King’s Jeweler, located on the upper level near AT&T. King’s Jeweler is a family-owned brand with a wide selection of high-end and custom-made gold, silver and diamond jewelry.

Also located on the upper level is new shoe store, Sneaker City, located near Pandora. Sneaker City is a premiere sneaker and streetwear brand to buy, sell and trade, and they carry some of the top names in streetwear.

The final two businesses fresh to the mall family are It’Sugar and Monsoon Bistro, both located on the mall’s upper level. It’Sugar is also known as America’s Greatest Candy Store as it is the country’s largest specialty retailer of sugary treats featuring a wide variety of sweets for all candy lovers.

Monsoon Bistro combines traditional Chinese and Thai dishes to showcase the culinary landscape and region. The menu, designed to celebrate Southeast Asian cuisine, features Dim Sum, Drunken Noodles, Mango chicken, red curry fish and more.

Hastings said these latest additions to the mall aid in creating a more diverse range of businesses available for customers.

“We listen to our customers and strive to meet their needs. Many have expressed a desire for more dining and entertainment options,” Hastings said. “While dining and entertainment are a current focus, shopping remains at the heart of the center. We opened several businesses in 2023, including Garage, Snipes, Verizon and El Burrito, as well as unique retailers like It’Sugar and The Inspiration Co. Having a diverse range of businesses ensures that there is something for everyone.”

Also, soon to come to the mall are two more food options in Terra Nossa Brazilian Grill, which will be located in Café Square, and Milkshake Lovers. Terra Nossa will be led by husband-and-wife duo, Joao and Karla Jardim who are bringing fast casual Brazilian barbecue to the food court. Offerings will include rotisserie style meats, Brazilian favorites Coxinha and Pastel, specialty drinks, desserts and more.

“Holyoke Mall continues to thrive as it adapts in innovative ways to the ever-changing retail landscape,” Hastings said. “As a result, this is where national, regional and local brands want to be.”
