SPRINGFIELD — People in Mason Square came out for City Start Community Day on Sept. 18. Community organizations, including the McKnight Neighborhood Council, Dress for Success Western Massachusetts and Martin Luther King Family Services set up booths along Ben Swan Way. Martin Luther King Charter School of Excellence had information for families with children, while American International College and Springfield Technical Community College offered brochures to teens and young adults. After a visit from Mayor Domenic Sarno, DJ Scope entertained the crowd, while people lined up at the Rodney’s Spice Kitchen food truck for lunch.
