SPRINGFIELD — Despite pouring rain on June 7, the Springfield Pride Parade returned for its fourth year. The parade stepped off at the Springfield Technical Community College Campus before the Pride Parade Block Party kicked off at Stearns Square following the parade.

WILBRAHAM — Wilbraham is a friendly place for those living with dementia and their caregivers. The Council on Aging and a group of volunteers have recently completed work required to be certified as a “dementia friendly” community by the Massachusetts Councils on Aging’s Dementia Friendly Massachusetts initiative. The town will receive a certificate at the Wilbraham Senior Center on July 7.

LONGMEADOW — As with each elected board or committee in Longmeadow, the Planning Board reorganized itself during the first meeting following the annual town election. What is often a routine procedure became a contentious schism between Planning Board member Walter Gunn and the rest of the board, particularly Chair Cheryl Thibodeau, who made efforts to assign other board members to the liaison positions in which Gunn had been serving.
