LUDLOW — Amid a background of animal sounds, state Rep. Aaron Saunders (D-Belchertown) and state Sen. Jake Oliveira (D-Ludlow) presented Joan Lupa and the Lupa Zoo in Ludlow with a check for $25,000, an earmark from the fiscal year 2025 state budget.
LUDLOW — Just over a year after the Board of Selectmen approved $4.8 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act funds to pay for a new football and soccer field and track at Ludlow High School, the ribbon was cut on the space during halftime at the Oct. 11 football game against South Hadley High School.

SPRINGFIELD — Speeding and distracted driving are problems on some of the long corridors through the city. With a $59,999 grant from the state’s Municipal Road Safety Grant Program, the Springfield Police Department aims to reduce that.
