SPRINGFIELD — As price hikes continue to plague commodities like food and natural gas, Springfield Partners for Community Action wants to ease the budgeting burden that many residents in the area currently face.
SOUTH HADLEY — South Hadley will be hosting its town election on Tuesday, April 8 at South Hadley High School, 153 Newton St. from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
NORTHAMPTON — A public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget was opened during a Northampton School Committee Special Meeting on March 27 and residents continued to express their desire for the committee to properly fund the schools.
WEST SPRINGFIELD — During the March 17 meeting, the Town Council approved a transfer of $150,000 from the reserve for wage negotiations account to the patrol officer’s account and the educational benefits account.
SOUTHWICK — When Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional School District Superintendent Jennifer Willard presented the district’s fiscal year 2026 budget to the Finance Committee last week, she proposed increasing Southwick’s assessment to $13.01 million which represents an increase 7.1% from the previous year, while Tolland and Granville will be assessed less than a combined $189,423 from last year’s budget.
SOUTH HADLEY — At its March 18 meeting, the Select Board approved the fiscal year 2026 town budget as well as proposed increases to the wastewater and trash fees after discussing the items over the past few meetings.
