EAST LONGMEADOW — East Longmeadow hosted its annual Fourth of July Carnival from June 28 to July 4 at Leahy Field. The carnival included food stands, rides, live music and various activities, such as axe-throwing and mock bull-riding.
WESTFIELD — It was a homecoming more than eight months in the making. Hudson, a large snapping turtle, was returned to its pond on Westfield’s North Side after being hit by a vehicle in October and severely injured.
NORTHAMPTON — After much conversation during its June 13 meeting, the Northampton Planning Board decided to continue its discussion about a project at 8 View Ave. until its July 25 meeting.
MONSON — Since moving to Monson five years ago, husband and wife Elias and April Acuna dreamed of starting a business in town. Now with their brand-new shop, CZP’s Frozen Treats, they hope to create something to deepen their roots in the community.
LONGMEADOW — The Springfield Ballers, a youth athletics organization serving the Greater Springfield area, received a $2,500 donation on June 24 from the Katarina “Kat” Boskovic Memorial Fund.
