ENFIELD — The Little Sisters of the Poor in Enfield are calling upon all classic car owners to wash and polish up their cherished collectibles for entry in their annual Classic Car Show. The fundraising event, set to take place on June 21 on the front lawn of their St. Joseph’s Residence at 1365 Enfield St., begins at 5 p.m.
ENFIELD — The Riverside Reptiles Education Center, or RREC, is a zoo that specializes in reptiles and amphibians. The center displays other unique animals such as invertebrates, including spiders, scorpions, millipedes, centipedes and various insects from around the world. They also have a small variety of unique freshwater fishes like electric catfish, electric eel, freshwater puffer fish and alligator gar. RREC has the largest reptile and amphibian collections and venomous snake collection in the area.
SOMERS — The Somers Summer Concert Series begins on June 20 and runs through Aug. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Gazebo on 19 Battle St. Hosted by the Somers Cultural Commission, the concert series will feature artists ranging from calypso, country western, rock ‘n’ roll, Broadway, blues, jazz and dance party bands.
HAMPDEN — Tighe and Bond presented an annual update for the town’s municipal separate storm sewer systems or MS4, stormwater program to the Hampden Board of Selectmen during its June 3 meeting.
