SPRINGFIELD — With residents across the state concerned about rising utility costs, local legislators in Western Massachusetts, and throughout the state, are ordering the Department of Public Utilities to review recent energy rate increases by investor-owned utility companies like National Grid and Eversource.
WEST SPRINGFIELD — The evening of Feb. 8 was supposed to be an evening to celebrate the crowning of a new colleen who will represent West Springfield and the St. Patrick’s Committee of West Springfield. Instead, the coronation event turned into a night of confusion.
WILBRAHAM — Unknown factors are creating complications for Wilbraham when drafting its fiscal year 2026 budget. At the Feb. 10 Select Board meeting, Town Administrator Nick Breault said he and Treasurer/Collector Barbara Hancock reviewed some of those problematic line items.
WILBRAHAM — Accessory dwelling units, such as tiny homes and in-law apartments, were again a topic of discussion at the Feb. 12 Wilbraham Planning Board meeting.
LONGMEADOW — After a public hearing and several weeks of review, the Longmeadow School Committee voted on Feb. 11 to send a budget request of $44.85 million to the town manager ahead of the town budget presentation to the Select Board on March 3.
